Proje Özeti

The project set out to empower young people through education, engagement, and creative expression, and during its implementation these objectives were successfully translated into concrete actions and measurable outcomes. From the beginning, the primary aim was to strengthen young people’s understanding of active citizenship, democratic participation, and their role in shaping local youth policies. Through a structured programme of workshops, theatre-based sessions, and interactive learning activities, participants gained practical knowledge about their democratic rights, opportunities for civic engagement, and the mechanisms through which young people can influence community-level decision-making.
A central objective of the project was to integrate theatre-making and civic education into a unified methodology that would help young people explore social issues in a dynamic and accessible way. This goal was achieved through hands-on theatre workshops, improvisation sessions, and collaborative performances where participants expressed their views on real social challenges. By using artistic tools, young people were able to analyse political themes, reflect on their own experiences, and communicate their ideas with confidence. This approach significantly contributed to their sense of agency and encouraged them to take on more active roles within their communities.
Another key objective was to foster meaningful interaction between young people and decision-makers. Throughout the project, participants engaged in structured meetings, Q&A discussions, and dialogue activities with local authorities and youth policy stakeholders. These encounters allowed young people to articulate their needs, ask questions about local policy development, and better understand how institutions operate. At the same time, decision-makers gained direct insight into the perspectives of young people, contributing to a more inclusive approach to policy-making. This helped reduce the existing communication gap and created a space for long-term cooperation.
The project also aimed to enhance participants’ personal development, particularly in communication, teamwork, self-expression, and leadership. These objectives were met through group tasks, collaborative scene creation, facilitation exercises, and feedback circles that encouraged young people to actively participate and take responsibility within the group. Many participants reported increased confidence, greater public speaking ability, and improved problem-solving skills by the end of the activities.
Furthermore, the project intended to raise young people’s awareness of the role they can play as active citizens capable of driving positive change. By the conclusion of the programme, participants not only gained knowledge but also developed a stronger motivation to contribute to social transformation in their own local environments. Several follow-up initiatives were initiated by the young people themselves, showing that the project successfully planted the seeds for ongoing civic engagement.
