Kentler tarih boyunca yaşanan tüm süreçlerden etkilenen ve içinde yaşayan toplumu etkileyen mekanlar olarak ele alınmaktadır. Kentlerin geçirdiği hersürece ayak uydurmak durumunda kaldığı ve bu yüzden yenilenme, gelişme, değişim ya da dönüşüm geçirdiği görülmektedir. Kentlerin dönüşümünde oluşan sorunları çözmek ve mevcut duruma uyum sağlamak adına yapılan tüm çalışmalardabu durumdan etkilenen toplumun da göz önünde bulundurulması gerekmektedir.Bu noktada, Kentsel dönüşüm uygulamalarının temel amaçlarından biri olanyaşam kalitesinin arttırılması hususu önem kazanmaktadır.Bu çalışma kentsel dönüşüm uygulamalarının kentsel yaşam kalitesine olan etkisini incelemektedir. Bu kapsamda, dönüşüm uygulamalarının temelamaçlarının başında olması gereken yaşam kalitesini artırma amacını yaşam kalitesinin göstergeleri çerçevesinde irdelenmektedir. Ayrıca kentsel dönüşüm vekentsel yaşam kalitesinin kavramsal çerçevesi ele alınmakta olup kentsel dönüşümuygulamaları ile kentsel yaşam kalitesi arasındaki ilişki teorik çerçevede değerlendirilmektedir. Dönüşüm uygulamalının genelde ekonomik ve siyasi kaygılaretrafında gerçekleştirildiği ancak fiziksel, sosyal, ekonomik ve çevresel göstergesetlerinde ele alınması kentsel yaşam kalitesinin artması noktasında belirleyiciolduğu görülmektedir. Dönüşüm uygulamalarının kentsel yaşam kalitesinin artmasındaki payının önemi üzerinde durularak bu hususta dikkat edilmesi gerekennoktalar üzerinde durulmaktadır.
The cities are considered as the places that affect the society living in them and affected by all the processes experienced throughout history. It is seen that cities have to keep up with every process they spend, so they undergo renewal, development, change or transformation. In order to solve the problems in the transformation of cities and to adapt to the current situation, the affected society should be taken into consideration in all studies. At this point, it is important to improve the quality of life which is one of the main aims of urban transformation applications. This study examines the effects of urban transformation practices on urban quality of life. In this context, the aim of improving the quality of life that should be at the beginning of the main objectives of the transformation applications is examined within the framework of the indicators of quality of life. In addition, the conceptual framework of urban transformation and urban quality of life is discussed and the relationship between urban transformation practices and urban quality of life is evaluated within the theoretical framework. It is seen that transformation practices are generally carried out around economic and political concerns, but they are the determinants of increasing the quality of urban life in the physical, social, economic and environmental indicators. The importance of the role of transformation practices in increasing the quality of urban life is emphasized.
