Özet

This study, based on archival documents concerning Hüseyin Hâşim found in the Ottoman Archives, Directorate of State Archives of the Presidency of the Republic of Türkiye, begins by defining and clarifying the scope of the Ara Nesil (The generation between Tanzimat and Serveti Fünun Periods), which includes Hüseyin Hâşim. Then it examines the political and social environment of the period, which is considered to have played a significant role in shaping these artists' sense of art. In the section on Hüseyin Hâşim's life, an attempt is made to present the artist's life and literary personality within the framework of information found in literary history sources and the personnel record discovered in the arc-hives. In the section that forms the core of the study, the qasida presented by Hüseyin Hâşim to the reigning sultan, Abdülhamid II, is introduced to the academic community. Along with the transcription of the qasida, its intralingual translation and analysis are also provided. In the appendices section, the transcribed text of Hüseyin Hâşim's personnel record is included.
