Özet

Increasing efficiency in energy systems, reducing technical losses, and effectively utilizing renewable energy sources are among the fundamental goals of a sustainable energy infrastructure. Solar energy offers a significant option for optimizing energy systems due to its modular structure and the ability to generate power near consumption centers. However, since photovoltaic generation depends on variables such as irradiance and temperature, it requires a comprehensive evaluation of installed capacity selection, site selection, power flow, and operational decisions. This chapter examines the conceptual foundations of optimization in energy systems, technical losses in power distribution networks, the modeling of photovoltaic generation, and traditional and heuristic optimization approaches within a theoretical framework. Particle swarm optimization is discussed in detail with regard to the proper siting and sizing of solar energy systems, and its relationship to economic evaluation, energy sharing, and multi-objective optimization is explored.
