This phenomenological study examines the impact of the professional lives of female correctional officers in Türkiye on their personal and family lives. The findings highlight that occupational challenges, including high stress, irregular hours, and physical threats, significantly harm family dynamics, parent-child relationships, and overall family health. The psychological burden of the job leads to stress and fatigue at home, affecting children emotionally and behaviorally. Additionally, occupational stress and workload cause women to delay or forgo motherhood. The study highlights that these challenges impede family communication and spousal relationships, underscoring the need for supportive policies to mitigate their effects.
